Is Protegent Antivirus a Scam?

Whether you are a professional or a typical internet user, it’s essential to protect your system from viruses and Trojan infections. One way to do this is with a good antivirus software solution. However not all antivirus programs are reliable. Some, like protegent, can be scams.

Unistal Systems Pvt Ltd. is a company located in New Delhi, has created Protegent antivirus. The antivirus is available in three editions that include: Antivirus with data recovery software, Total security software, and Complete security software. The antivirus comes with the mascot Proto which, up to 2020, was an homage to Super Why from the PBS children’s show Super Why! The commercial for the antivirus begins with a classroom of children who use computers at school. The teacher checks the browsing history of one of the students and finds that they’ve been consuming inappropriate content. Then, a cartoon-style version of Proto appears and informs the students that they should use protegent, a program that helps them stay safe online.

Protegent claims it can safeguard computers from ransomware, malware, and other threats, like Trojans, rootkits, and Trojans. It also helps users improve their upload and download speeds without harming privacy. It also comes with a specialized scanning engine which protects the computer from adware and spyware, ad ware, rootkits, Trojan’s viruses, and scratch marks from phishing. It also has a backup and restore feature that helps recover lost or deleted files. It also removes the fragmentation of your hard drive to increase its efficiency.
